Turkey Grows Three Times More Than Europe

Despite the current problems in it's region, Turkey managed to grew three times more than Europe, Turkish Finance Minister said.

“Despite the worst and biggest global crisis seen in 60 years, and the crisis in Europe, and the crisis in the Middle East, Turkey grew around five percent," Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said.

From a national income of 230 billion USD in 2002, Turkish economy now reached 800 billion USD, he added.

The Turkish finance minister said also that if Turkey is able to grow three time more than Europe, despite all these harsh conditions, it means that it is on the right track, adding that Turkey’s foundations are firm enough to cope with the conditions in resilience.
