Cenk Ocal Appointed as Turkish Airlines' General Manager in New York Featured

Cenk Öcal is appointed as Turkish Airlines' New York (United States) General Manager.

Taking over the duty from Ihsan Baytan, former general manager of Turkish Airlines (THY) in New York, Cenk Ocal will lead New York office of the company which cought a trend of fast growth in the last decade in the United States.

Cenk Öcal has finished Istanbul University's school of economics and did his masters degree at Istanbul Trade University on international business. He has been working for Turkish Airlines since 2005 and he was successfully leading Turkish Airlines' Sofia office as the airline was celebrating its 30th year in Bulgaria in 2014.

Turkish Airlines, which is expected to carry a total of 63 million passangers this year, is approaching to the level of annually 1,5 million passangers in United States.

THY flies to 7 destinations (New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Houston, Boston and San Francisco) in United States and will add Miami on 25th October and Atlanta on 16th May 2016 to its list of US destinations.

Europe's Best Airline for Fifth Year in a Row

Turkish Airlines has been named the “Best Airline in Europe” for the fifth year in a row by Skytrax, which is recognized by the aviation industry for its global ranking system which tracks customer satisfaction of airlines service and performance around the world, the company said in a written statement on June 16.

The awards, based on over 13 million surveys of worldwide airline customers from May 2014 to January 2015, evaluated traveler experience using key performance factors including check-in, arrivals, transfers, security and immigration.

The carrier also received the distinction of having the “World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge” and “World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining.”
